A recent study completed by the Environmental Protection Agency found that “every 10,000 tons of materials recycled supports nearly 16 jobs,” and more than three-quarters of a million dollars in wages. In other words, there are more benefits to recycling than just the ones on the surface.

According to the EPA, a single year of recycling in the United States provides 757,000 jobs. Needless to say, more jobs means a more stable economy, both locally and on a national level.
The America Recycles Innovation Fair and Summit
To celebrate America Recycles Day, the EPA is hosting two free events which are available online and open to the public. Its Innovation Fair will be held on Monday, November 16th, while the Summit will be held the following day, Tuesday, November 17th.
These events will focus on “bringing together organizations and individuals who are interested in making a difference in recycling in the United States,” as well as “showcasing recent advances in recycling technology, product development, and materials usage.”
