Learn About the FX Series of Beside-the-Press Plastic Granulators
As we mentioned above, we offer three base models in our FX line that seamlessly integrate into any molding or extrusion process. The end result? Optimal scrap reduction. The FX 700, FX 1000, and FX 1600 give users a trio of dynamic options based on customer part size and throughput requirements. These models are able to process a variety of materials. Whether it’s blow-molded bottles, electrical connectors, screw pieces, and extruded profiles.
With superior maintenance access, application flexibility, and enhanced safety, you’ll be pleased to know that you don’t have to sacrifice durability or performance. With wide open access to all parts, maintenance on these plastic granulator machines is a breeze. Superior maintenance access means knife changes can be completed quickly and with minimal effort. A linear actuator on the hopper of the FX 1600 and a gas spring-assisted hopper on the FX 100 facilitates easy access.
High Performance for Any Application
An improved discharge seal reduces any regrind leakage while a larger discharge bin gives you more uptime. There’s even a viewing window to allow you to monitor the bin level without having to shut down your machine. Some models even include optional viewing windows on the hopper, ensuring that users can watch material being processed. This gives you the ability to gauge how full the cutting chamber is and verify consistent material flow without having to shut down your machine.
Available in tangential or offset chamber configurations, FX Series Granulators are ideal for various applications. The tangential configuration supports larger volume parts through a smaller machine, while the offset design is ideal for thicker-walled and long-profile components. The equipment is configured to offer flexibility in sizing the chamber to meet your exact production needs.
Versatile and flexible, this equipment can be set up with various customizable options. For example, multiple hopper designs and specific discharge solutions for specific system and application needs means that versatility and flexibility are easily within your reach.
Safety Your Team Can Count On
At Cumberland, we believe that safety is a top priority. That’s why we’re committed to offering granulator machines that contain industry-leading safety measures for your facility. One way we do this is by ensuring that users cannot access the chamber while the rotor is spinning. A category 3 safety circuit includes two sets of redundant interlock contacts, short circuit protection, and safety rated components. Additionally, the hopper and discharge bins have solenoid activated locks, and this means access to the chamber is fully secured during operation.
Needless to say, sound suppression is also a crucial component, and that’s why we feature a sound-dampened design for reduced noise levels.
Consistent regrind is also important, and it is achieved by using a rugged knife assembly with finely tuned tolerance. With a heavy duty rotor construction, the rotating knives are fixed. This allows adjustment to take place at the bed knife. It doesn’t get much easier than that!
